Mobile Applications that need a database login
For Mobile applications that have database connections, you have two choices, as far as the login goes.
OPTION 1. Hardcode the userid via SETUSER() & the password, via SETPASSWORD() in a start document, that then calls your content, via the OPEN() function.
When you have security considerations, and you desire to control "who"can see "what", in your data, option 2 is how to get the Users' credentials.
OPTION 2. Create a "login" document that the user enters their credentials into and then calls your content, via the OPEN() function. This document is then entered into the navigation hierarchy in the mfwNavigation.apd file.
Formula for the "SUBMIT" button. The content document here, is mymobile.apd.
The connection name is ESSBASE.
